Today’s Fly Fishing:

We have no reports today because the weather was so terrible. We are looking at more rain and wind tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll have something to post then.

Today’s Walk-in Fishing: Only had two reports from this erea today, neither angler reported any thing to really jump about. But, they did alright. I belive it will pick up when the weather returns. Monday and Tuesday look good from here but, the goofy weather will return after that. We really need the rain so, lets not get our bottom lip out too far!!

Spin Fishing Report:

People reported  doing O.K. on spinners, and bouncing Glo-bugs along with san juan worms, but, was reported just O.K. also. Just like the fly- flickers, they didn’t do all so well either. Lets just see… When the high pressure returns I’ll bet the fishing picks right back up. How ever I did recive good spin fishing reports in the walk-in erea today.( Panther Martins) Seemed to be what they were after… The gold blade with the black bead usually work well. And that’s just what they were using.

Projected River Flows:

Releases from Glen Canyon Dam during March 2007 will be lower. The scheduled releases during March will be 8,000 cfs from 5AM to 14,500 cfs to 7PM.. Releases in March 2007 are scheduled to be 600,000 acre-feet for the month (an average of 9,800 cfs).

Fishing Forecast:

The lower water levels during March could be very good for the current fishing as of late. The recent river flows of 9,000 cfs to 17,500 cfs have proposed some challenge. At various riffles the trout haven’t been as accessible. They have been out of reach in some places. Therefore lower water could provide potential at finding fish in shallow riffles. Especially as the midge hatches become more prolific.
