Today’s Fly Fishing: Today’s reports were good, all of the guides that were out had a good day de-spite the afternoon rain we received. Fish were happy all the way up to the dam and down. Although sometimes hard to find. All the typical patterns were doing well. With the weather clearing in the next few days we will slip right back into big fat smiles.
Today’s Walk in area: the walk in area is still fishing well, a good drift is a must. The fish are very close to the shore and easy to find, and easy to spot, hope to see you soon! Here fishy fishy!!!
Spin Fishing: The egg patterns are still producing down deep when dragging bottom. Consider a scud dropped below the glo bug about a foot and a half. Plenty of weight is definitely necessary so as to keep you rig down in the strike zone. The Kastmasters and Rapalas are also productive while back trolling.
Projected River Flows:
Releases from Glen Canyon Dam during March 2007 will be lower. The scheduled releases during March will be 8,000 cfs from
Fishing Forecast:
The lower water levels during March could be very good for the current fishing as of late. The recent river flows of 9,000 cfs to 17,500 cfs have proposed some challenge. At various riffles the trout haven’t been as accessible. They have been out of reach in some places. Therefore lower water could provide potential at finding fish in shallow riffles. Especially as the midge hatches become more prolific.
