Tyler Smith
A second generation fly fishing guide and University of Montana graduate, Tyler Smith spends his summers fly fishing in Idaho, Montana, Bristol Bay Alaska, and in Patagonia Chile.
At 14, he worked behind the counter at Mike Lawson’s Henry’s Fork Anglers and began to learn the technical fisheries of Island Park Idaho. At 19, he guided professionally in the Greater Yellowstone area. Now in his mid-20′s, he guides in Alaska during the summer months at the premier fly-out Royal Coachman Lodge in Bristol Bay.
Tyler has been with Lees Ferry Anglers since 2010, both guiding and taking care of customers in the fly shop. Tyler is a fresh, energetic new face on the Colorado River, and he is enthusiastic and passionate about the sport of fly fishing and taking great care of his customers.
Terry Gunn says that “Tyler was born to be a guide and expect him to rise to the top of his field; there is nothing to not like about this kid.”
