Luke Blaser grew up in Colorado fishing all across the state. In 1998 Luke moved to Greeley Colorado with a baseball scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado. He began his fly fishing career working at the Complete Angler in 1999.
In 2001 Luke transferred to Western State College in Gunnison Colorado and began guiding for and managing Willow Fly Anglers at Three Rivers Resort just outside of Gunnison. There he guided the Taylor River, a well known western tail water and accumulated over 500 commercial miles of guiding float trips on the Gunnison River.
In 2004 Luke left Gunnison and after a few months living in Alaska he moved to Bozeman, Montana. There he continued his pursuit of trout while fishing on the Yellowstone, Madison, Gallatin, Big Hole, and Missouri Rivers. He worked at The Rivers Edge in Bozeman until fall of 2006.
In 2007 Luke moved back to Alaska and guided on the Aniak and Innoko Rivers for Midnight Sun Trophy Pike Adventures. There he guided for eleven species including Northern Pike, Sheefish, all 5 pacific salmon species, Rainbow trout, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, and Grayling. He spent over 100 days running power boats for pike and sheefish on the Innoko River while mixing in week long fly-in-float-out camping trips for salmon, trout, and char on the Aniak River. He left Alaska at the end of the season this past September.
Now Luke is a full time guide here at Lees Ferry Anglers.
